English: Pic 1 is a home built inside the Lake by the side of 100feet road that runs from Toraipakkam to pallavaram by dividing the Periya Lake in to 2 halves..See the height of the road and compare it with the height of the home. This is the depth of the lake that had plenty of water now encroached.
Pic 2 is a lane that was once a Sluice destroyed during MGRs rule now converted as a street by the encroachers. You can see a hut at the right side of the picture built on the Lank bund. One can imagine the height of the hut. Pic 3 is the lake bank that is converted as a street and the encroachers are now living inside the lake...This the exactly the same spot of Foothills of Pallavaram that Rajanikanth in his movie Bhairavi jumps to kill Srikanth with his wooden leg in the Movie at Track Time at 01h:01m:03s Climax Scene in VCD Disk 2. I have taken this picture recently from the top of the hill where Rajanikanth stood using my still camera to show how rampant the situation is... |
