This image shows the energy levels and wave functions of the lowest four states.

For the reference of future viewers and potential users of this image, it appears that the wavefunction curves in the current version of this image are incorrect (see Talk:Particle in a box#Image:Particle1D.jpg).--GregRM 01:07, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
