Summary

Description
English: Reconstruction of Pinacosaurus, an ankylosaurian dinosaur from Asia of the late cretaceous period.
  • Head: The head in the current restoration is partially based on the specimen IVPP V16853.[1]
  • Armor: The armour arrangement in the current restoration are mostly based on the skeletal drawing made by Gregory Paul[2] (who based it on the ankylosaur specimens MIG 100/1305 and PIN 614).[3]
  • Hands and feet: the standard for ankylosaurids seems to have been to possess five manual digits and three pedal digits (except for Tarchia, which have been reported to have possessed four pedal digits (this have also been suggested to have been the case for Talarurus, but it is not certain)). The hands and feet of Pinacosaurus followed the typical ankylosaurid pattern.[4]
