English: A view and tabulation of the state of the British navy in 1804. Napoleonic Wars (1803-15).
This view appears to show four captured French vessels, each flying the Jack and the French flag. Portsmouth is in the background. The accompanying letterpress text is at RCIN 735106.b. Both view and text were formerly kept in a rough buff folder with 'Naval Engagement 31 Jan. 1804' inscribed bottom left of the front cover. Not described in Parker. The title appears below the view to each side of the coat of arms of George Montague. Joseph Constantine Stadler (active 1780-1812) (engraver), after Richard Livesay (1750-1826) (artist and publisher).
