English: Praseodymium chloride heptahydrate under fluorescent lamp light and halogen lamp light. Colour of the fluorescent lamp light image has been white balanced based on the white surface underneeth the vial. For both images, the same sample and surface have been used. The difference in hue of the sample is due to the small f-band transitions of the praseodymium ion.

English: Image is a compilation of two photographs. The photograph under fluorescent lamp light is white balanced to match the colour of the surface underneath the sample, so that the difference in light colour is filtered out, and the difference in sample response remains.
