Summary

Description
English: The motif known on Tatra Mountains foothills art as "Surowiec's acceptance". Glass painting, early XIX century, greyscale reprint. Jakub Surovec (in the middle, jumping) accepted into the Juraj Janosik's (first on the right) group. As a form of highwaymen exam, he cuts off one pinnacle of a mountain pine with a poleaxe, while shooting off the other one with a pistol. While such a scene never occurred, it is widespread in Goral legends. Zdzisław Piasecki mistakenly described the jumping person as Janosik.
Date early XIX century
