English: Reminiscence At The Fish Cross This fine statue by Malcolm Robertson is entitled "Reminiscence". It marks the site of Ayr's Fish Cross, at the corner of High Street and Hope Street. It was placed here in 1995.
In 1613, a local witch called Janet Smyllie was locked up at this spot in the "jougs", (iron rings), to suffer the taunts of passers-by. (Source: Ayr Stories" by Dane Love).
