Description
English: Riachão Ring impact structure (astrobleme) in Brazil. This is a part of a photograph (AST-23-1931) acquired by the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project from orbit in 1975. Contrast and brightness have been adjusted, and it has been rotated so that approximate north is at top. This impact structure was discovered from analysis of this photograph, as documented in Apollo-Soyuz Test Project Summary Science Report, Volume II, Earth Observations and Photography, Edited by Farouk El - Baz and D. M. Warner. NASA SP-412, 1977.
