Français : La chatellenie d’Ussé fût érigée en Marquisat en 1700. « La Seigneurie d'Ussé est très considérable, et d'une grande étendue, consistant en un château avec cinq grosses tours et fermé de fossés à fond de cave et pont-levis, dans l'enceinte duquel est une église (chapelle actuelle), qui en est la paroisse où il y a un Chapitre composé d'un Doyen et de cinq chanoines de la Fondation des Seigneurs du dit lieu, avec un parc de soixante arpents, clos de murs, et avec tous les ornements qui peuvent rendre une terre capable de porter un titre éminent ».
English: The chatellenie Ussé was erected in 1700 Marquisate. "The Lordship of Ussé is very considerable, and a large area, consisting of a castle with five towers and closed ditches bottom cellar and drawbridge, in which some is a church (present chapel) , which is the parish where there is a chapter composed of a dean and five canons of the Foundation of the Lords of the said place, with a fleet of sixty acres, fenced, and with all the ornaments that can make a land capable of carrying an eminent ".
