Summary

Description

Template used to create real 2-digit South Carolina Highway shields. Do not use this file on a real article! To use:

  1. Open Inkscape and double click on the number "22".
  2. Replace "22" with the number you need.
    1. If the number has a "1" in it, or if it is a 1-digit number, change the font to Series D, otherwise keep it at Series C.
  3. Convert the number (text) to a path
  4. Save the SVG as Inkscape or Plain SVG. The file name should be SC-x.svg, where x is the number.
  5. Upload it here, with the category [[Category:South Carolina Highway shields|0XX]], where XX is the 2-digit number. If it is 1-digit, use 00X (X being the number) instead.

Public domain This file is in the public domain because it comes from the South Carolina Supplement to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, which states in ch. 1 that "on May 1, 2011, SCDOT adopted the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices". The federal MUTCD states specifically on its page I-1 that:
Any traffic control device design or application provision contained in this Manual shall be considered to be in the public domain. Traffic control devices contained in this Manual shall not be protected by a patent, trademark, or copyright, except for the Interstate Shield and any other items owned by FHWA.

No provisions of the supplement supercede this provision of the MUTCD.
