August 1985, SP GP9 #3765 is heading back toward Fremont after a run to Radum, outside Pleasanton. The track is SP's line to Altamont Pass but had been c losed for sometime with the SP using UP's former WP trackage. Underpass construction in Pleasanton resulted in the SP line being returned to service between Pleasanton and Sunol for both SP and UP trains. This section of track is now part of the Niles Canyon Railway, |
