Summary

Description
English: On May 21, 1941, Nazi German submarine U-69 under the command of Captain Jost Metzler sank American SS Robin Moor in the Atlantic. At that time, more than half a year prior to Pearl Harbor, the United States were still neutral and the sinking caused a major diplomatic incident. The Germans allowed the American crew to leave ship before she was torpedoed, shelled, and eventually sank.
