English: Votive relief : Sacrifice to Demeter (Ceres) and Core (Proserpine). Marbor from Pentelic mount (Greece), Circa 340 - 320 BC, Eleusis (Greece). Bought 1865, collection Pourtales. Louvre museum (Paris, France). MIII 2533. Ma 752.
Français : Relief votif : Sacrifice à Demeter et Core. Sur la gauche, un couple accompagné d'un jeune serviteur s'approche d'un autel pour offrir aux divinités un cochon et des mets posés sur une corbeille. A droite les grands personnages sont les déesses d'Éleusis auxquelles le sacrifice est destiné : Perséphone, ou Core, (la Proserpine des romains) tient à la main deux torches allumées. Déméter (la Céres des romains), déesse des moissons et de l'agriculture, tient une fr:phiale (petite coupe sacrificielle) de la main droite. Marbre du mont Pentélique (Grèce), Vers 340 - 320 av. J.-C., Eleusis (Grèce). Achat 1865, collection Pourtalès. Musée du Louvre. N° d'entrée MIII 2533. Ma 752.
