DescriptionSalisbury Infirmary Georgian frontage with parts of west and east wings, 12 January 2023.jpg
English: View of the Fisherton Street frontage of (the former) Salisbury Infirmary. The central crenellated part dates from 1767-1771, but was altered during development for residential use in 1997. The inscription on the upper frieze (not in its original position) reads 'GENERAL INFIRMARY SUPPORTED BY VOLUNTARY CONTIBUTION : 1767'. The original entrance was on the floor above the present-day entrance, where the smaller window now sits, and was accessed by steps. Photo taken 12 January 2023. (the crenelated frontage was not altered but an operating theatre visible behind the crenalations was removed and the inscription was not altered in the recent renovations.
