English: Record of a sediment echo sounder on a monitor (type ParaSound by Atlas Elektronik). The echo shows the sea floor in a water depth of 1288 m. The 3.5 kHz signal penetrates the sediments about 100 m, providing information of the structures below the surface
Français : Visualisation graphique sur un moniteur (type Parasound, Atlas Elektronik) de l'enregistrement des échos reçus par un sondeur de sédiments. L'écho montre la surface d'un fond marin étudé à - 1 288 mètres sous la surface, et il donne des informations sur les structures situées sous la surface du fond, selon sa pénétrabilité par le "signal" (ici de 3,5 kHz, qui peut pénétrer le sédiment jusqu'à environ 100 m de profondeur sous la surface du fond |
