It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. It is used to help explain the Trade Map, an important game mechanic discussed in the article. It shows part of the Trade Map, depicting how the different trade outposts are connected to one another, how many traders are required to unlock a new outpost, and what trades each outpost offers. The purple trade points have already been occupied and are now unavailable to other players. The image highlights this gameplay aspect in a way the article text itself could not describe as intricately, and thus enhances the reader's understanding of the prose. Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original artwork, namely the creator providing graphic design services to relevant concerns and video game marketing to the public. |
