Description
English: Looking northwest at the Seven Buildings in Washington, D.C., in the United States in 1865. These seven, three-story Federalist-style townhouses were constructed by Walter Stewart in 1796. They have housed presidents, vice presidents, foreign embassies, the U.S. State Department, and even the U.S. Constitution. Most of them were demolished in 1959 to make way for a modern office building. Two facades survive as part of the facade of a 1986 office building.
