Description
English: The Sferisterio in Macerata, a large open-air theatre erected from 1820 to 1829 as a playing field for a local ball game, now houses a yearly opera festival in the summer. Its website can be found at [1]. Here, the Sferisterio is shown two nights before the Premiere of the summer 2007 opera festival. The dress rehearsal of "Macbeth" is under way, at this moment in intermission.
Deutsch: Das Sferisterio in Macerata ist ein großes Freilufttheater, das ursprünglich als Spielfeld für ein regionales Ballspiel von 1820 bis 1829 erbaut wurde. Heute findet dort jedes Jahr im Sommer ein Opern-Festival statt. Die Website ist unter [2] zu finden. Auf diesem Photo ist das Sferisterio zwei Abende vor der Premiere des Opernfestivals 2007 zu sehen. Die Generalprobe für "Macbeth" ist in der Pause.
