Description
English: The photograph shows a photo of Soham Swami, a famous Bengali yogi and Guru and Hindu religious figure of India. He was a famous disciple of Tibbetibaba, a famous Bengali philosopher saint of India. The photograph was shot in India more than 78 years ago. The person depicted in the photo had entered in Mahasamadhi before 18th November,1930 (corresponding to month 2nd Agrahyana of year 1337 of Bengali calender year). Soham Swami, whose original name was Shyamakanta Bandopaddhyaya, was Tibbetibaba's Advaita Vedantic disciple. He had so much physical strength that he could wrestle even tigers. Soham Swami had ashram in both Nainital and Haridwar. The writings of Soham Swami include books named Soham Gita, Soham Samhita, Common Sense and Truth (this book was the only book written by him in English poetry). Information about the saint can be obtained from the following books (the books are published in Bengali language in India): 1) Bharater Sadhak O Sadhika.
