English: Sialoadhesin binding site of the Variable Immunoglobulin domain in complex with a sialylated glycan. Focuses on the conserved salt bridge that is found in all siglecs, with a key, conserved arginine residue forming an ionic interaction with the sialic acid carboxyl group (COO-). The glycan carbons are purple and the protein carbons are green. Oxygens are red, Nitrogens are blue and Hydrogens are white.
