Description Brockley Hill tube station was one of the planned stations on the extension of the London Underground's Northern line from Edgware to Bushey Heath. Works to construct a viaduct on which the station would be located began in the late 1930s, but were postponed during World War II. After the war, the area was designated as part of the Metropolitan Green Belt around London, meaning that the residential development the station was meant to encourage could not take place. The extension was cancelled, with parts of the arches of the viaduct left in place.
