DescriptionSite of RNAS Newhaven - geograph.org.uk - 718407.jpg
English: Site of RNAS Newhaven The wooden sleepers in the foreground would have once had Stroudley railway carriages perched on top of them and used as admin offices for the staff of RNAS Newhaven. When the base closed the carriages were used as holiday homes until they were removed for defence reasons in 1939. The concrete hardstanding beyond marks the site of the former hangars. The seaplane base was built on the shingle banks to the east of the River Ouse.
