English: "Snadoun Hill" (now Mount Agamenticus); detail from "A Description of New England," 1616, published by Captain John Smith. Showing place names suggested by Prince Charles to replace "barbarous" aboriginal names, the Agamenticus River (now York River) region appears as "Boston," and the Piscataqua River region as "Hull." "Smith's Isles" are today the Isles of Shoals.
