"So Get Up", written and originally recorded by Ithaka in 1992 for a guest spot on the program Quarto Bairro on the Portuguese station Rádio Comercial and then rerecorded again as an electro musical version in Manchester, England for the label Embryo Entertainment.

After a popular remix of So Get Up by Underground Sound Of Lisbon, including an acapella of the poem by Ithaka, was unauthorizedly (and without vocal and lyric credit) was released in the U.S. by Tribal America / I.R.S. / EMI Records in 1994, over six-hundred electronic music producers have released versions of "So Get Up" usually without permission of credit to the lyricist and vocalist, Ithaka Darin Pappas. With reportedly more than a thousand remixes created from Ithaka's original acapella, it has become the most remixed vocal element in musical history.

The biggest commercial successes of these usages has been "Trance Line" by Committee (#4 on the Spanish pop charts in 1995), the big beat tune "Get Up! Go Insane! by Stretch n Vern (#17 on the British pop charts in 1997) and Cosmic Gate's EDM festival favorite, also entitled "So Get Up", released in 2013 in association with Armin Van Buuren's label, Armada Music.
