Summary

Description
English: A gold solidus of Clothar or Chlothar II (r. 613–629).

Obverse: CNLOTARIVS AVC [intending CHLOTARIVS AUG, Chlotharius Augustus, Emperor Clothar]

Reverse: CHLOTARI or CHLOTARII VICTVRIA [intending CHLOTARII VICTORIA, Victory of Clothar]

The reverse inscription copied earlier Roman models and was in turn copied by later coins, particularly closely by the Audulfus Frisia triens.
