Description
English: St.Mark's obelisk 1762-63. Obelisk in St.Mark's shopping precinct that once housed a drinking water conduit and stood on the High Bridge 577122
Built as water conduit by Gale of Hull. Restored in 1863 and named the Albert Fountain after the Prince Consort. The fountain was fed from a spring on Monks Road. It was dismantled in 1939 and put into storage, then brought out again in 1996 and re-constructed in the St Mark's development.
