Description
English: Formal portrait of Edward G. Campbell Barton. Edward Barton M.I.E.E. was an electrical engineer and member of the Senate of the University of Queensland. Son of Edward L'Estrange Barton. Was a partner in the New Zealand firm Barton & White, the firm which later became City Electric Light Co. Ltd., which supplied Brisbane with electricity in the early 1900s. Mr Barton was an authority on meteorology and took an active interest in technical education. (Information taken from: Fred Johns's Annual, 1914, p. 11).
