Media data and Non-free use rationale
Description Picture of Baseera Khan's mixed media sculpture The Liberator (2022) at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., in 2023. A bright pink sculpture composed primarily of a 3D-printed model of the artist's body from above the knees, with arms that end just below the elbows. The artist's body is bisected at a 45 degree angle, starting at the top left shoulder, by two rectangular pieces of plexiglass, one orange and one lime green, which glow in the light projected onto the sculpture. The top half of the artist's body has been turned around and placed on top of the plexiglass, so the body appears to have been sliced and reattached backwards, with the resulting angle making the artist's head project toward the right. The body is wearing extensive jewelry and clothes with metal accents, and a large metal pole is stood at the back of the work, with a long chunk of the artist's hair attached to the top. The entire piece sits on a grey metal pedestal.
