"The Palace of the King of the Cameroons" (La Pagode), Photograph by Richard Harding Davis, c. 1905/1907. At this time, the king of the Duala Bell lineage was Manga Ndumbe Bell.

From the Project Gutenberg version of The Congo and Coasts of Africa by Richard Harding Davis. Originally published in 1907 by Charles Scribner's Sons, New York. Davis died in 1916.
