DescriptionThe River Trent near Alrewas, Staffordshire - geograph.org.uk - 1552543.jpg
English: The River Trent near Alrewas, Staffordshire. This is the scene approaching Alrewas from the north-east. The river flows towards the camera, through the low walkway/bridge which is the towpath for the Trent and Mersey Canal. The canal veers off to the left towards Alrewas Lock, having utilised the river's course for about three hundred metres. This pound of the canal is not navigable safely when the river is in flood.
