Summary

Description
English: The Sanchi Torso, a sandstone sculpture from Sanchi in Madhya Pradesh. Created circa 900 CE, it likely depicts the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. Found during archaeological excavations at the site in 1883. Now on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in West London (Museum number IM.184-1910).
