Description
English: Relief of Thutmose I. Facsimile by Nina deGaris Davies, 1925. Metropolitan Museum of Art Rogers Fund, 1930 (30.4.137). This painted relief from the Chapel of Anubis in the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut was copied by the artist Nina deGaris Davies as part of the work of the Graphic Section of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Egyptian Expedition. Richly painted, the relief depicts the king wearing a pleated linen shendyt with elaborate sash. He carries a walking stick and ceremonial mace. Thutmose I is accompanied by his mother Seniseneb.
