Summary

Description
English: Postcard of Tom Carrick's 'Famous' or 'Popular' Pierrots, sometimes billed as the 'Original Scarborough and London Pierrots', of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. Pierrot troupes were introduced to Scarborough in the early 1890s, at which time Tom Carrick began his, initially named the White Musketeers, after he had performed with Sydney James's Strolling Players in the 1880s. Carrrick's Perriots, in white dress with red pompoms, competed with Will Catlin's Perriots for prime spots on Scarborough beach during the summer season. The reverse of the card advertises Carrick's Eleventh Annual Grand Farewell Concert at the Mechanics' Institute for 23 September 1905.
