Description
English: The U.S. Navy destroyer escort USS Buckley (DE-51) in drydock at the Boston Navy Yard, Massachusetts (USA), circa in May 1944. Her bow bent is from ramming the German submarine U-66. U-66 was detected by General Motors TBM Avenger of Composite Squadron 55 (VC-55) from the escort carrier USS Block Island (CVE-21) and sunk by Buckley on 6 May 1944.
