While the UN recognizes the People's Republic of China as the sole legitimate government of China, it does not address the question of Taiwan's sovereignty or representation at the UN (UN General Assembly Resolution 2758). Therefore, showing Taiwan in orange would incorrectly portray it as a UN Security Council member abstaining from voting on the proposed resolution.
