Summary

Description U.S. Coast Guard patrol boats escort the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea (CVA-43) as the vessel enters San Francisco Bay following its return from an 11 months overhaul at the Puget Sound Navy Yard in Bremerton, Washington (USA). Later, on 15 July 1971, a fire damaged cables leading to and from the main communications spaces, and which also extensively damaged the pipe shop. Therefore, Coral Sea entered the San Francisco Naval Shipyard before beginning her deployment to Vietnam on 12 November 1971.
