Summary

Description
English: In July 1898, the Army bought a number of ships, including the Manitoba, to support troops in Cuba and Puerto Rico during the Spanish-American War. It numbered them, with Manitoba being "23". The ship was renamed Logan and painted white in July 1899, so this photo can be dated to the one-year period when the ship appeared this way.
