English: Philippine Sea (Jun. 15, 2003) -- A plane captain assigned to the "Golden Hawks" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Twelve (VAW-112) signals the pilot during an engine start-up of an E-2C Hawkeye at the beginning of flight operations. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group will remain in the Western Pacific while the forward-deployed USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) completes scheduled dry dock maintenance.
