Summary

Description
English: Ulster Museum

Model (hypothetical but evidence based) of a Mesolithic hut at Mount Sandel, Co. Londonderry, Ireland.

The remains of six round huts were found at Mount Sandel from about six meters in diameter with a central hearth. The seventh House is small, only about three feet in diameter and has an outer stove. The huts were made a frame of bent, set in post holes in the bottom branches, which were probably covered with skins.
