First flight on October 9, 1959 and delivered to United on December 5, 1959 name “Mainliner James Doolittle”. Sold to Boeing Commercial Air Transport Sales on February 1978. Leased to Notombi International in October 1978 and returned from leasing in April 1979. Delivered to Tropical Aircraft Leasing in June 1979 and converted in DC-8-21(F) in August 1979 named “Peggy”. Withdrawn from use and stored at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in January 1981 and broken up. |
