Summary

Description
Suomi: Upsal Solingen -partahöylän (1932-1939) mukana tullut mainos / käyttöohje.
English: This is the ad / manual that came with the Upsal Solingen slant safety razor. The razor was made between 1932 and 1939. In English the text says:

"Our new adjustable Upsal razor

is unique in terms of precision and construction. The slant position of the head ..

[--left slant position-- --right slant position--]

.. helps it provide the smoothest of shaves, similar to those achieved by a very steady hand of an experienced barber.

Other benefits:

Large lather drains - the capacity of which is increased by four large lather exits - lead soap lather and cut stubble out, preserving the cutting efficiency of the razor.

Constant shaving readiness enables a precise shave without skin irritation.

Protruding serrated closed comb saves your skin from cuts.

The blade will not break because the slanted position is made by adjusting the whole head and not by putting more burden on the blade itself. This extends blade life as well.

Please note:

As you adjust the head to another position, ease the handle slightly before moving it."

Public domain
This photograph is in the public domain in Finland, because either a period of 50 years has elapsed from the year of creation or the photograph was first published before 1966. The section 49a of the Finnish Copyright Act (404/1961, amended 607/2015) specifies that photographs not considered to be "works of art" become public domain 50 years after they were created. The 50 years from creation protection period came into force in 1991. Before that the protection period was 25 years from the year of first publication according to the §16 of the law of protection of photographs of 1961. Material already released to public domain according to the 1961 law remains in public domain, and therefore all photographs (but not photographic works of art) released before 1966 are in the public domain. See Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Finland for details.
