Summary

Description
English: Ur, Old Babylonian house from the AH site, 1 Old Street in Woolley's classification. May have been the residence of Ea-nāṣir, merchant involved in trade with Dilmun (Bahrain), whose archives have been found in the house, especially in the Room 6. Functions of the rooms are hypothetical, probably they may be multi-functional. 1. entrances ; 2. main court ; 3. room leading to stairs (the house may have one storey) ; 4. lavatory ; 5. reception or residential room ; 6. chapel, or other residential room. The house lies in the northwest of Woolley's map of the area, just south of the label "Old St.".
