Français : Vase colossal d'Amathonte. Provient de la cour du sanctuaire d'Aphrodite de l'acropole d'Amathonte (Chypre). Il contenait de l'eau utilisé pour des libations dont le cérémonial ne nous est pas connu. Un escalier sur le coté permettait d'accéder. Calcaire coquillier. Hauteur : 1,87m, Diamètre extérieur : 3,2m. 7e-5e siècle av. J.-C. Musée du Louvre. |
