THOMAS CLAGETT, A PHYSICIANOWNED WOODBURN DURING THE CIVIL WAR AND AVOIDED SHERIDAN’S BURNING RAID BY HAVING SLAVES WARN SHERIDAN THAT MOSBY WAS WAITING NEARBY TO AMBUSH HIM. IN MODERN TIMES IT HAS BEEN OWNED BY RUDOLPH NUREYEV, THE BALLET SUPERSTAR.
