Portion used |
The full screen is used for the image. The screenshot is of low resolution, contains compression artifacts and is partially blurry already since it was filmed off a TV screen. Cropping the image would reduce the resolution to a point where it would be of no use to document the object. |
Low resolution? |
The screenshot was taken of a low resolution copy of the commercial. The image was reduced from 478x357 px to 300x224 px. At this resolution the image is of no thinkable commercial use other than the documentation of the prototype figure. |
Purpose of use |
One purpose of the image is to document the prototype Wackel-Elvis in the Audi commercial itself, which later led to the mass production of a dashboard figure of more sophisticated design and with distinct differences. As a second purpose, the image is used to document the very differences between the prototype used in the commercial and the eventual commercial product derived from the prototype. |
Replaceable? |
The image is not replaceable by a free image. Although the dashoard figure was later mass produced for retail purposes, the figure in the commercial is a prototype that differs from the commercial product in several distinct features such as dress color (gold vs. white), hair color (blonde vs. black) and the body shape of the figure, most prominently the bowlegs of the prototype which were straightened in the commercial product. Since the fate of the prototype is unknown, it is not possible to obtain a free image of the prototype figure. There are no other unfree or free images available of the prototype figure. |
