English: A dual-gauge railway track in Wallaroo (Yorke Peninsula, South Australia). The outer rail is 1600 mm (5 ft 3 in) broad gauge, the inner 1435 mm (4 ft 81⁄2 in) gauge. When this photo was taken, in March 2008, only the outer rail was continuous, because the line was occasionally used by a broad-gauge tourist train. The inner rail was missing at some spots (e.g. around switches), so the track could not be used by standard-gauge rolling stock. Note added later: Yorke Peninsula Rail, the association which operated the tourist train, disbanded in 2009. Subsequently the track was lifted and the route was re-purposed as a rail trail.
