English: Whatcheeria was an early tetrapod from the Mississippian of Iowa. It has been recently re-described and the crushed skull of the holotype specimen CT-scanned and digitally reconstructed, revealing an animal with a laterally compressed head and body, strong limbs and a rather long neck for an early tetrapod. Although capable of walking on lands, it was probably mostly aquatic.
