Summary

Description
English: This photograph was taken at the Bhoganandishvara temple (also spelt Bhoganandishwara) at the foot of Nandi Hills, Chikkaballapur district, Karnataka state, India. The temple was originally consecrated during the rule of a local Bana dynasty king around 810 A.D. and the overall style is Dravidian. The large mantapa (hall) in front of the shrines with Yali pillars was a contribution of the 14th-16th century Vijayanagara Empire.
