English: This is a view from above the Golden Gate. It is between pylons, on top of which one can walk (entering a pylon on one side, crossing to the other walking on the roof). The picture was taken from the roof of the north pylon. The spot we see is the spot where the gate formerly was. Strolling through Istanbul (guidebook) says "When Theodosius II decided to extend the city […], it was presumably in connection with this new wall that he built the small marble gate outside the triumphal arch…”. That gate is on some other pictures.
