English: A quality striking home pendulum clock, which chimes the hours on an internal bell. It is powered by the weights visible in the case. One weight powers the timkeeping gear train, the other powers the striking train. It has a gridiron pendulum made of alternating rods of iron and zinc, which compensates for thermal expansion and contraction of the pendulum rod, keeping the rod a constant length with changes in temperature, improving the accuracy of the clock. |
